Cadastro iniciado em 1998, com recurso a levantamentos topográficos e a levantamentos locais utilizando como base na carta 1:2000, originada pelo levantamento aerofotogramétrico realizado entre os anos de 1977 e 1985 da responsabilidade do Centro de Formação Técnica da Secretaria Regional do Equipamento Social. Actualmente as actualizações são feitas diariamente com recurso a levantamentos locais com base no ortofotomapa da Ilha Terceira à escala 1:5000 de 2005 e a levantamentos topográficos.
